Lighting design

Lighting design is a creative part of lighting planning that focuses on the design and aesthetic design of lighting. This can involve the lighting of buildings, decoration or theater stages.

This area helps to complement the purely technical element of lighting design and blend harmoniously into the existing architecture or interior design. Architectural lighting design is all about creating the right lighting and selecting luminaires that fit well with the interior. Italy used to lead the way in Europe when it came to such lighting, but the Netherlands and Belgium in particular are now setting the trends.

There are still no established standards for the profession of lighting designer. The Professional Lighting Designers' Association (PLDA) attempted to standardize the profession with training programs, and on December 3, 2014, the Federation of International Lighting Designers (FILD) was founded to define and protect the profession.

Lighting designers who work in the theater or at events use different materials and equipment and follow different principles, whereby artistic expression is more important than everyday usability.

Thanks to the development of LED technology, the field of lighting design has changed dramatically. With the increasing use of LED products for indoor and outdoor areas, many designers and planners are now focusing more on energy-efficient lighting solutions rather than traditional design.

Rigging

We build upwards for you

Riggers are specialized technicians who are responsible for erecting and dismantling large metal structures, known as trusses, at events. These trusses, usually made of aluminum, are securely fastened to the ceiling of the venue using chains, ropes and other aids.

The riggers use special equipment such as electric or manual chain hoists to lift and lower these often heavy trusses. In the theater, they often use devices that are called leaf hoists.

For very complex structures, a structural engineer is consulted to ensure that everything is safe.

Temporary structures, which are referred to as "temporary structures", must be inspected by the responsible building authority, which also prepares an inspection log. Anyone wishing to erect such a structure must notify the authority two weeks before the start of construction. As a rule, an inspector is then sent by the authority to inspect everything based on the inspection book, which contains drawings, static calculations and material certificates, among other things.

For standard structures based on up to two points, riggers can simply calculate the loads using the manufacturer's load tables. If the construction becomes more complex, i.e. from the third attachment point onwards, these calculations must be carried out by a structural engineer.

Event technology production plays a central role in the successful implementation of events of all kinds - from concerts and theater performances to conferences and sporting events. This area includes the planning, coordination and implementation of all technical aspects of an event to ensure that the event runs smoothly and professionally.

The tasks in event technology are diverse and include lighting, sound and video technology as well as stage and decoration design. We are professionals in this field who not only have the technical know-how, but are also creative in order to fulfill the wishes of the artists and the expectations of the audience. We are responsible for selecting the right technology and ensuring that all equipment is installed correctly and functions reliably during the event.

A well-executed technical production ensures a smooth process and an impressive presentation that captivates the audience and creates an unforgettable experience. It's not just about avoiding technical problems, but also about creating an emotional impact through creative lighting effects, clear sound and impressive visuals.

In the modern event world, where audience expectations are constantly rising and technological possibilities are becoming more diverse, the role of production is more crucial than ever. Professional event technicians work closely with artists, managers and other stakeholders to develop customized solutions that realize specific artistic visions while ensuring that all safety and efficiency standards are met.

Production in event technology is a complex and crucial field that requires technical expertise, creative design and careful planning in order to harmoniously and effectively combine the diverse aspects of an event.
